All I thought of Olga Bell when I first listened to "Echinacea" was "old school" Bjork. Back in the good ol Michel Gondry directed days. Unlike her newest overly Timbaland produced cluster f*^% of a sound album. Maybe it is her indirect ties with Thom Yorke that makes it all familiar. Thom Yorke was featured on the song "I've Seen It All" on Bjork's soundtrack Selmasongs for the movie, Dancer In the Dark. This was the year of Bjork's infamous swan dress grammy performance. Bell was born in chilly Moscow then moved to chilly Alaska. In her late teens she graduated as a classically trained pianist in Boston then moved to New York. Bell even tackles Thom Yorke's song "The Eraser" and Radiohead's "Videotape." You can buy her 6 song Bell EP for $5 through her website.
