It is always a fabulous day when you get to listen to a newly released Thom Yorke or Radiohead song.  The song "All For The Best" is on the album Ciao My Shining Star: The Songs of Mark Mulcahy (September 29, 2009).  It is a 21 song cover album from the likes of artists: The National, Michael Stipe (R.E.M.), Dinosaur Jr., Josh Rouse, Mercury Rev, Elvis Perkins and others.  An additional 20 tracks will be released digitally including: Laura Veirs, A.C. Newman, and Buffalo Tom.  The album was created in tribute to Mulcahy's suddenly deceased wife, Melissa, leaving him to raise his three year old twins alone.   

I should be getting ready for work, but instead, I am watching Radiohead videos.

This video is a joint project that Radiohead did with MTV to raise awareness of the exploitation of child labor and its roots in Western consumerism. The video follows two children -- one obviously American child, and another from an unspecified Asian locale -- as they live out their day. The video concludes pretty effectively to drive the point home that our choices have far-reaching consequences. The video is set to premiere on MTV tomorrow. Pitchfork has it now...

This is an acoustic version of the song, "Reckoner" from Radiohead's latest release, In Rainbows. This was recorded yesterday in an interview with BBC Radio 2. I have to say, I like this version better than the album version. This kind of reminds me of "Pyramid Song" from Amnesiac.
