Not to jump on the bandwagon or anything, but this song is everywhere right now on the internet. I've got an interview in the morning, but I thought I'd take the time to post this track anyways.
A song like this should be an instant hit. I can imagine a world where if radio actually existed -- or at least the idea of a forum where popular music can be showcased in a public and conspicuous manner -- that this song would be tearing up the request lines.
It raises an interesting question -- if the internet is truly free and efficient distribution, then why do songs like this not explode into the mainstream? It would make sense that with our unfettered access to everything that is out there, that the ability of an artist to be a grassroots success story would be magnified ten-fold. Yet, for some reason those stories are non-existent at the macro level. I have a lot of ideas of why this is the case -- and I'd like to explore that topic in-depth over a series of posts. For now I'll just leave with that question; why isn't the internet producing mega-stars on a regular basis?
Oh, and this song is killer too.
