I looked high and low for any comprehensive info I could find on the guy and only came across a hastily put-together myspace page with limited info and a low friend count. Seemed kind of strange for someone being pushed by so much indie-cred. I started to suspect that it was too good to be true and that it was some kind of April Fools Day prank being played on the easily-excitable music-blog community. I was wrong, of course. Turns out MBAR was the real deal and he's currently planning a tour in Europe.
Maybe I'm just an April Fools alarmist, but something about Montreal's CFCF seems a little fishy. This new single, "You Hear Colours," is all over the internet right now and currently only available in a limited pressing of 500 copies on 7" white vinyl. Doesn't that sound just a little too cool to be real? I mean, white vinyl, really???
Checking CFCF's myspace page yielded a bunch of pictures of a dude in a red mask, but little else. I just checked out the Acephale website -- the label putting out this magical fairyland limited edition 7" -- and there is simply a picture of the vinyl and some links to online stores where you can buy it. Of course the 7''s are sold out -- I doubt the links even work. Jerks.

I completely forgot to send you the pics from the MBAR show in Denver last year. I'll see if I can find those, but I think they have probably already been deleted. CFCF is pretty sweet though.
