I am absolutely overjoyed in reading the news that my favorite unsigned band, the Rural Alberta Advantage has just signed with Saddle Creek today! Saddle Creek, home to Bright Eyes, Cursive, Tokyo Police Club, Rilo Kiley, The Faint, etc.. will re-release RAA's amazing album, Hometowns, on July 7th.

Here is the Pitchfork news article:

In his writeup of the Rural Alberta Advantage's set at the eMusic SXSW showcase, Tom Breihan wrote, "This band could be huge." Well, they're on their way. The trio have signed to Omaha, Nebraska powerhouse indie Saddle Creek. Saddle Creek will re-release their debut album, Hometowns, on July 7 (it was originally self-released by the band last year).

Saddle Creek could not be a more perfect fit for this band, and hopefully with their relatively sizable promotional war-chest these Alberta natives will get the exposure they so genuinely deserve. RAA are currently touring Canada and parts of the Northwest, but word is that a larger tour is in the works. I would totally skip the Bar Exam to see these guys/gals live!
