The Mercury Prize was developed to honor 12 Albums of the year by British or Irish artists. The Prize is Europe's number one arts prize in terms of media coverage and influence. The winner receives $32,000 and a live concert performance at the awards show in September. Quite often, most of the artists have slipped through the cracks of popularity especially this year. A list of artists worth looking into. Last years winner was Elbow's The Seldom Seen Kid beating out Radiohead's In Rainbows.
